The Vine reviews ‘Adrenalina’ for San Marino

Song #9- San Marino- Adrenalina

We are getting spoiled with pop songs this year, and San Marino does not disappoint! This pop banger fuses that R and B nostalgic noughties club feel with a contemporary twist, giving us a unique, spectacular number. I love how catchy this is, and the instrumental is simply divine, particularly in the pre-chorus with those ascending chords, and then the chorus with those gorgeous drops is an instant hit. The beat is strong throughout, the synth is a nice touch, and the harmonies in the pre-chorus are stunning. Senhit’s vocals are perfect for this song, and she truly sells it. I love the sultry lyrics in this, especially the pre-chorus before the ‘Adrenalina’ hook. It’s incredibly catchy and would fill a dancefloor in seconds, I have no doubt. The rap section works well- even though it’s not my favourite genre, it slots perfectly into the song and doesn’t take away from that sultry, passionate mood. It’s actually a nice moment of contrast, and the lyrics fit the song well. The build up throughout this song is just right, with the ongoing layering working us all up to a spectacular final chorus, and I’m always sad when this song ends. It’s an absolute banger, and I can’t stop listening to it.

Prediction: I can’t see this failing to qualify- it’s both current and nostalgic, which should appeal to juries, and if the staging is strong, televoters will flock to this. Senhit has a lot of fans in the ESC community given her previous entry, and if Flo Rida is on the stage, that will attract yet more votes. Still, Senhit carries this on her own, and I think she’ll sail through the semis, with or without Flo. In the final, this could be a televote hit, with the advantage of being a strong enough song to get some jury support. I’m predicting 6-12.
